If you adopt me, I’ll give you this ball. Then you can throw it, and then I’ll bring it back so you can throw it again. We could do that about 50 times! Wouldn’t that be AWESOME? I’m Patrick in Ohio, and those are the kinds of fantasies I have when I imagine having my veryownrealforever person. Could it be you? Could it be your sister-in-law or maybe your best friend’s old college roommate? It’s the age of social media, so sharing can be like a MIRACLE for a homeless dog like me! And I do need a miracle. I’ve been waiting at the Columbiana County Dog Pound in Lisbon, Ohio, for a year now because I was being held in a court case, and it’s starting to take my happiness away. My shelter friends here are worried about me, and want me to get adopted as soon soon soon as possible, so my stress-related skin problem can go away once and for all. I am still young — only a year and a half old — so I need some basic obedience training. But when my friends here take me out to play, I’m still full of joy and run and play with other dogs and really know how to have a good time! I also love to kiss and snuggle human people, as anyone here at the shelter can tell you. It’s just when we go back in… well, you can imagine. Everyone is very worried about me — so please, start sharing! I really need your help! Love and kisses (I LOVE KISSES!), Patrick PS: I almost forgot! My link is here: http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=25478242, and if you want to talk to my shelter friends, please contact 330-424-6663 ext 1757. Don’t give up! Kisses again just because, P

Sigh… trying to find my new home is SO much work! Can you help by sharing me?

I’m Delta, and I live at the Berkeley Humane Society in the San Francisco Bay Area. At first they thought I was shy, but it turned out I just had a very clear sense of the order of the universe, and as long as I could get my bedtime scritches and pets, I was actually a friendly, cuddly, sweet kitty friend.

I’m particularly proud of my super-sonic purring capabilities. Let’s just say you’ll never fail to know when you’ve hit my sweet spot!

Unfortunately, first impressions can be hard to change, and I’ve been here an AWFULLY long time now — months and months! It’s just wrong. I’m sure you agree.

To find out more about me, check out my link http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=25603719 or my PAWSOME photo album: https://www.facebook.com/

Or you can just email cats@berkeleyhumane.org or call 510.845.3633 ext. 14, and tell them you demand nothing less than the best: DELTA!

With kitty kisses, Delta

You know those TV ads for adult diapers that say, “Can I say a word to you about a sensitive subject?” Yeah, I’m Gracie from Rockwall Pets in Texas, and that’s MY story! Yes, I dribble. That’s my disability, and it’s one a lot of people won’t tackle. But the thing is, I could happily live in a home where things are set up for me so if I don’t quite get to the litter box sometimes, it’s no big deal. There ARE homes like that… I just need to find MINE! But for that, I need your help. Please celebrate National Disabled Pets Day today by sharing me. You never know where my forever home is hiding! Check out my link at http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=23197173, or contact my peeps at 972-696-9PET • info@rockwallpets.com. Thanks for understanding, and sharing! Love, Gracie

There’s tragedy in my past, but I’m all about the future! I’m Lucy, and my friends at Stray from the Heart in New York City have helped me forget my rough start in life. But it left me with scars, as you can see. They took me to the vet, who said that since I’m in no pain and can eat and drink and play, I don’t need surgery. And my rescue group friends all say I’m still perfectly beautiful when you look at me with your HEART! I get along great with all dogs and cats, and my friends want me to stay within a three hour or so drive, so they can always be a resource for me. Also, they say they’ll welcome me back for vacations sometimes! Aren’t they NICE? So I’m here today to ask you to give me the greatest gift of all for National Disabled Pets Day: A new home! Please share me, and ask everyone to look past my mis-healed jaw and into my heart — I’m counting on you! Love, Lucy PS, my information is here: http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=21709250, or you can contact 347-242-0459 • bethsfth@aol.com

Some people say there are no angels. I know they’re wrong!I’m Harry, and my friends at the St. Francis Animal Protection Society in Campbell, CA, proved to me that angels are REAL. I was in the shelter and, because I have a spinal problem that means I can’t use my rear legs, things were looking very, very bad for me. And then… they came! The next thing I knew, I was in a foster home and they got me this amazing cart so I can still run and play and go for the long walks I love most of all — you know us Siberian Huskies, we’ve just gotta be on the go!Now I’m ready for my next angel: the person who adopts me. Will it be you? Someone you share me with? I don’t know, but I know it will happen — maybe today, National Disabled Pets Day.I’m around 4 years old, and don’t worry… I have no problems peeing or pooing on my own. And just think how fun it would be to have a dog with his own wheels!Want to know more? Stand back for the sheer awesomeness of Dancer the three legged-kitty! Hi, everybody, and Happy Disabled Pets Day! I’m Dancer, and I’m appearing nightly at the Whiskers Animal Benevolent League in Albany, NY. I may only have three legs, but I’m light on my toes and still love to run, jump, and climb. I love other cats and people (of course!), and would love to show a forever home just how resilient we Tripawd kitties are. Can you help by sharing me? Love, Dancer in PA PS — my 411: http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=25216541, or contact 518-448-9565. My adoption application is here: http://www.ewhiskers.com/apply

Is it true? A whole day for differently-abled pets like me? WOW! I’m Apollo, and I live at Coming Home Rescue, Inc. in Rockaway, NJ. I have a soft spot on my head where the skull never closed, my spine is crooked and my back legs are deformed. It’s hard for me to stand, but that doesn’t stop me from bunny-hopping all around! I’m pad-trained, love other dogs, love to be carried, and am an AMAZING cuddler! Good morning! Today is National Disabled Pets Day, and we’ll be celebrating the wonderful differently-abled dogs and cats in our nation’s shelters and rescue groups all day long! We’ll be posting here on Tumblr, on Twitter (@shelterpets), on Pinterest, on Google+, and on Facebook… please, RT, share, and re-blog these beautiful animals who are so often overlooked — and so often the greatest loves of our lives!

Stand by to meet some AWESOME pets!

I’m Ginger, and I’ve been here at the Claiborne Animal Shelter - Claiborne County Tennessee for a loooooong time… even longer than the arooooooo of a lonely houndog! But I’m cute, right? Lovable? A good girl?

My shelter friends tell me I am those things, so if you think so too, would you share me? Maybe you aren’t in Tennessee, but I bet you know someone there, or that someone you know does. And I’m getting kind of sad here, waiting. And even though I’m a beeeeyoooteeeeful Redbone Coonhound, with super-nice manners, sometimes people don’t “see” us hound dogs. That’s why I was hoping you’d help me!

Do you want to know more? I love walks and tummy rubs, and I’m spayed and microchipped and up to date on shots. You can check out more pics of me at http://theshelterpetproject.org/pet?id=25360565, and talk to my people about me at 423-626-2686 • claiborneshelter@yahoo.com.

I wag you my gratitude! Love, Ginger
